Robin Hochella-Assistant Coordinator for Apartment Living

I'm a first year grad in Jardine and I hail from a suburb of Allentown, Pennsylvania.  I completed my undergraduate studies at Syracuse University where I majored in Sociology.  I enjoy watching college basketball and POKER, and I love to play soccer and tennis.  I have two lovely sisters whom I try to spend time with whenever possible (but they live in Ohio and Pennsylvania!)  I'm quite looking forward to my time working in Jardine--the residents and staff are so friendly and welcoming that I already feel at home here in the J!

Nick Lang-Assistant Coordinator for Apartment Living

Nick Lang is in his first year with K-State Housing and Dining.  He previously worked for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh as a Community Advisor, and later a Builing Manager on Duty.  He has a B.A. in American History from UW-Oshkosh with a minor in Geography.  In his spare time he enjoys palying sports, watching movies and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs!

Jordan Young- Resident Assistant

I am currently an open option student, but am headed towards going into international business with a minor in public relations or communications.  In my spare time I go to the rec or sit around with friends.  I would rather be out doing something than sleeping the day away. Although I have been answering the phones at Jardine for awhile now, I’m looking forward to getting to interact more with the residents as an RA.

Paul Payton- Resident Assistant

Hello! I’m Paul Payton and I’m a resident assistant in Buildings 10 and X. I’m from Kansas City, Kansas, which is less than a minute from the Legends Shopping Center and also ten minutes from downtown Kansas City. I’ll be a senior and I’m majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Journalism.  The main reason why I’m a Computer Science major is because I love video games.  I’ve played them since I was three due to my parents teaching me how to play the original Super Mario Brothers on the Original Nintendo.  Since then, I’ve always enjoyed video games.  In my free time, I also enjoy watching and playing sports, music, movies, exercising and hanging out with family and friends.  I am really looking forward to making new friends and hearing about their diverse backgrounds.

Beth Gorney- Resident Assistant

I am a first year senior in Architectural Engineering and plan to stay and complete my masters degree.  I am from Fairfax, VA where my parents and two little sisters live.  In my spare time (when I'm not studying!) I enjoy attending K-State sporting events, going to the rec, hanging out with friends, reading, cooking, and watching movies or the Food Network.  This is my second year at Jardine and I'm excited to meet all the new faces and put on some really great programs!

Community Development Staff

Deborah Kohl - Coordinator for Community Development

Deborah has just begun her ninth year at the Jardine Apartment Complex, and seventh year in the position of CCD. As a graduate student she fell in love with the Jardine community, and as the redevelopment project has unfolded it has been a huge blessing for her to serve the residents and staff in transition. Deborah came to the complex to finish her M.S. in English Education following two and a half years as a high school English teacher, and on occasion still dreams of teaching Romeo & Juliet and To Kill A Mockingbird. A mother of four children and wife to Ben, Deborah finds plenty to keep herself busy. The Kohl family loves to put on the purple and attend football and basketball games—as well as many of the other events in the Manhattan community—and are proud to make the “Little Apple” home.
