Dashers at the Dining Centers

Van Zile Dashers

Dashers is the fast, convenient way for you to get a nutritious meal on the go! Van Zile offers an assortment of fresh foods and beverages in portable, disposable containers.

To obtain a breakfast Dashers meal, inform the checker you would like a Dashers meal as you enter the dining center, and follow this procedure.

  • Present your ID card to the checker.
  • The checker will deduct a meal from your card and hold your card for 10 minutes.
  • At the Classics line the server will give you a disposable meal container, soup bowl, and 16 oz. paper cup.
  • Select your meal from our menu offerings.
  • Return to the check stand in 10 minutes to pick up your ID card, and obtain lids, straws, and eating utensils.
  • Promptly exit the dining center.
  • Your Dashers meal should fit inside the issued containers and is meant to be taken with you. It is not permissible to eat your Dashers meal in Van Zile’s Dining Rooms, or use additional or unapproved containers.

If you would like to obtain a lunch or dinner meal at breakfast or a dinner meal at lunch, please inform the checker. You will be issued the appropriate service ware, and should follow the above procedure. Your respective Dashers meal for that day will be deducted from your meal card. If you choose to get a lunch or dinner Dashers meal at breakfast, your meal card will not work during the respective meal period for that day-should you change your mind and want to dine in at Van Zile.

Dashers meals are only available for students with meal plans. Cash paying guests are not allowed to use the Dashers service.

Think food safety first! Keep in mind, that safe food-handling procedures should be followed once your meal leaves the dining facility. The dining center cannot be responsible for food-borne illnesses due to improper handling occurring after food has left the facility. If you do not plan to consume your meal within an hour, we suggest you open the styrofoam lid and refrigerate the meal. Please ask any of the dining center management staff if you have questions about how to handle food safely.
